Recycle Bin

DO IT:  Weekly.

Every time you delete a file on a PC running a Windows Operating system, it isn't really deleted. It is instead stored in a temporary holding area called the Recycle Bin. It stays there until you restore it or permanently delete it.

From time to time it is a good idea to go and delete the files you have no intention of restoring.

Here’s how to delete some or all of the files in the Recycle Bin:

Step 1:
The Recycle Bin can be found in Windows Explorer. A shortcut to the Recycle Bin is also on your Desktop.  Locate the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop and double-click it.

Step 2:
When the Recycle Bin opens, click File on the menu bar and a list of options appears.

Step 3 (Option 1):

If you only want to delete specific items, select them. Then hit the Delete key.

Step 3 (Option 2):
Select Empty Recycle Bin from this list and every item in the Recycle Bin is deleted.  If your sound is on, you will hear the sound of paper being crumpled up.
