Detect and Remove Hidden Viruses, Trojans

Viruses are one of the biggest threats to our computer systems. Viruses are responsible for infecting our files and in turn, our PCs can become both damaged and unusable due to crashing or an inability to function. It is necessary for your computer system to be able to detect and remove hidden viruses, especially the Trojan virus. Unfortunately, even when you think you are protected with your anti-virus software program, there are many that do not detect the Trojan viruses.

The Trojan horse viruses are extremely tricky for your computer to detect. The threat of this virus is that it tends to remain undetected by your computer. The computerâ operation is altered and the virus begins to delete programs and files.

Most of the time, our computers catch these viruses as they are sent to us in the form of an email attachment. Once we open the attachment, the hard drive is infiltrated by the virus and starts doing damage to the system slowly. The viruses are really difficult to detect, however, removing them is not as difficult.

Each Trojan virus will have its own certain routine but all conform to one basic pattern. The pattern is that each normally inserts a line in the run utilities in your computers Windows registry. This is typically the startup step. This is simply deleted by removing the Trojan line and rebooting from the computers database which will then stop the loading of the virus. The virus may alter system.ini or Win.ini and then puts itself into the startup folder. By following the same procedure, you must remove the lines to stop the virus from running. The virus is capable of replacing or altering a file. The virus must be removed immediately by automated tools or by having a specialist remove the virus.

To remove a Trojan horse virus, you may need to do the following:

1. First, check your files through your hard disk to see if you have a file that has been infected with a Trojan virus.

2. Look to see how the computer starts. This way you will be able to prevent it from starting again after you reboot your computer system.

3. Take a backup of your computer files so that you can avoid future problems regarding your files.

4 .Once you know the viruses weakness you can reboot your computer and begin to remove the virus.

5. Visit our pages on How to Recover from a System Compromise for more details.

CTRL + ALT + DEL; Netstat method is similar to the task list method. Both break the Trojan virus so that it is unable to communicate and can be used. TCPView may also be used and is a free utility.

The most convenient method to remove a Trojan virus is to download a anti-virus software from the Internet. The importance here, is to download from an authentic Web site. Also, always remember to update your anti-virus software program to ensure that you have the best defense for your computer system.
