Data Files Back Up

The data files back up is the most important back up you can make.  Your data files are those files you create using application programs.  

For example, if you use Microsoft Word and keep a journal, wrote some letters or created some invoices, Word is the application program, and the files you created are data files. 

Another example is if you use a financial record-keeping program like Quicken or Microsoft Money: the data files are all those files you created containing your personal financial records. 

Probably the most sentimentally important data files kept on a computer are pictures.  I keep an extra back-up of these in my bank's safety deposit box!
