Cleaning the Lens

DO IT:  Monthly, or as necessary.

The lens reads your CDs and DVDs, so it also requires basic routine cleaning.  Keeping your lens clean will help prevent disc read errors.  If you continue having disc read problems after cleaning the lens, it is recommended that you purchase a commercial CD/DVD drive cleaning kit.

What You’ll Need:

Compressed Air

Step 1:
Open your CD/DVD drive.

Step 2:
Take a can of compressed air and blow it into the drive.
