Before the Back up
What you do before your back up can make things easier for you in the long run.
Start by organizing your folders. Backing up is easy if you have a little structure in your folders. It's
faster and easier to back up your files and subfolders if they are located in a single folder, rather than having
your documents scattered across the hard drive.
My favorite place is the Documents and Settings folder on my hard drive (I run Windows XP). But it really
doesn’t matter where you put yours, as long as all your personal files are in one place. You’ll be less likely to
forget a file when you back up. Organization is the key.
Now we’re going to discuss two different types of back ups and the reasons for each of them.
